JIBO has a wonderful design and great programming it can do things like take photos of people and recognize when a photo needs taking just by facial expressions, movements and speech. JIBO would also be great for families that have children because JIBO can tell stories and listen and interact with your child. JIBO can turn easily so makes video calling easy to see the whole family. JIBO can also recognize members of the family so can deliver mail and messages to the right person without fail. In my opinion JIBO is a great example of how a robot can be helpful and fun in a family household.

Although it is not as impressive as JIBO it is still a robot it is programmed to do something. This specific robot is programmed to vacuum your house for you. This robot maps a 3D map of the environment (your house) and then vacuums using the map to identify the relative location of where the furniture and the robot itself is in the house. This way it does not crash into things and end up breaking something.
